Darren Brown Psychic Show

Hi
As an avid fan of the amazing showman Darren Brown, I tuned into his most recent Tv programme and sat back ready to be entertained in style!
He proceeded to introduce himself to a number of separate teams located in different countries and asked each individual to number a plain brown envelope which they placed a personal object into before handing them to him. This was all completed without him seeing which envelope belonged to which individual.
He then withdrew and explained that it would take him some time to complete a personal profile for each of them based on the objects inside the envelopes. He placed the finished profiles in each of the envelopes and asked each guest to collect their own envelopes. Once the guests had read the profiles he asked them whether the profiles were accurate?
Approximately 80% of a total of around 20 guests said that the profiles were indeed accurate. Most of the guests interviewed were aghast at the content of the profile, stating that they were extremely accurate, one even commented that it was too personal to talk about!
The sting?
Each profile was exactly the same- the guests had been duped but obviously enjoyed the experience- Showmanship and entertainment at its best I think!
What is obvious to me is that this form of entertainment is carefully and professionaly orchestrated. An appropriate stage is set and Darren Brown is certainly a master craftsman. He's obviously adept at hypnotism and fully versed in psychological "tools of the trade"
What's my point you may ask?
I was profoundly disturbed by what I witnessed! The inference following this part of the show was to cast doubt on general psychic abilities. As a person who has experienced "unexplained" phenomena since the age of 3 or 4 I found myself caught between understanding the content and platform of the show and feeling left "high and dry" and totally alone!
I cannot deny my own person, in fact I have spent many years trying to come to terms with who and what I am.
Did you see the show and if so how did you feel ?
I'd really like to hear from anyone who'd care to get in touch

I struggle with this same issue. How do we distinguish between people who are very clever and dupe willing participants and those that are very genuine? I recently got into a discussion with a classmate who is the grader for the psuedoscience class. My beef is that all the handouts I see (i haven't taken the class) make it sound like everyone is a fraud. Skeptics leave no room for legitimate experiences. And that's really frustrated when it hits close to home! I have to keep reminding myself that it doesn't matter what they believe, it doesn't change my experience in the least. I just think they're missing out on some interesting and valuable experiences themselves! In the end, when someone has an experience they can't explain, they'll either realize there's more out there, or they'll ignore it as best they can. Until then, what do they know anyway? :-)

Hi Jaxson
Thanks for the encouraging remarks!
What experiences have you had?
I would be extremely interested in hearing about them!
I find your comment regarding skeptics interesting also. Before I joined Haunting Breaks I too believed that skeptics left no "room for legitmate experiences" but I'm glad to say that since meeting many individuals on the events, my opinion has been changed. Our events include plenty of time for open discussion and during that time I have spoken with many guests who start the event claiming they are skeptics and have changed their minds by the end due to their experiences with us. Good eh?
Although we are a travel/entertainment company we never the less are seriously commited to the core of our product and I cannot express how rewarding positive feedback is. I personally feel that as long as we promote questioning, research and awareness of the possibility of another realm then our mission is completed!
Do get in touch with your experiences, I would love to hear about them!!

Once worked with a guy who hypnotised people and have always thought that I would like to try it!
Your self-development concepts appear easy to understand which is really crucial in today's world
