The Real Da Vinci Code

OK some of you must think that all I do is sit around watching documentaries & that's partially true. Since my younger years I have been fascinated by the Holy Grail & absorb any information pertaining to it, including Monty Python's take on it which is as good as any. No better than most!
Through the decades I have given my time to researching all & everything from books, films, to on-line articles and blogs & obviously have read Dan Brown's The Da Vinci Code, Michael Baigent's The Holy Blood and the Holy Grail. Laurence Gardner's Chronicles of the Holy Grail etc. etc. I have also fought my way through Wolfram von Eschenbach's Parzival , Sir Thomas Malory's Le Morte d'Arthur, & even planned a pilgrimage to Rennes le Chateau in France, to catch a glimpse of the church where the priest Berenger Saunier unearthed his sudden mysterious wealth! MAD or what? but who can resist the early Grail romances centred on Percival and woven into the more general Arthurian fabric?
Anyway recently I happened upon a documentary that attempted to de-bunk Dan Brown's allegedly "factual content" found in his book "The Da Vinci Code"
Dan Brown's book The Da Vinci Code may be a novel, but Brown claims that his book is based on research and that all the art, architecture and secret societies he describes are real.

It's a controversial claim because, if based in truth, The Da Vinci Code threatens to turn our view of history on its head. Millions of readers have been hooked, but what do historians think of the book and do its major claims stand up to scrutiny?

Has the truth about the Holy Grail been suppressed by the Catholic Church? Has the Grail been kept safe by powerful secret societies? And is the real truth about the Grail encoded into Leonardo's great painting of the Last Supper?

This interesting programme has thrown water on the heat of my passion & actually offered a realistic objective view point concerning Dan Brown's novel that may interest some of you. I still have no answers to my personal quest but choose to believe that The Holy Grail exists. In what form I do not know!

Christmas List to Santa

Hi

Been a while since last post but personal circumstances haven't been great and consequently lost my "Mo Jo"

Anyway back to Christmas the time of "Good will to all men" & "peace on earth"

Is it just my depressive mood or have we human beings lost the plot or never really got it?

Whatever our faith surely us westerners have got to get a grip on what we are, what we do and the consequences of our decisions and actions

I recently watched with horror, the Iraq enquiry and although conscious of the value of an enquiry, wondered why as a nation or individuals we allowed this and any other wars to flourish
Of course I am not naive and realise that politics and other factors are the "mainstay" of any wars, but I feel that we need to start thinking about we do.
Each of us can make a difference if we step off the wheel, step out of the "machine" that blinds us to what we really are

We can start this by taking control of our lives. Each one of us needs to change the way we think. Start considering others, even in a small way.

Here's my Christmas Wish List:
Say hello to a neighbour, ask them if they're OK or maybe need some help?
Ask yourself whether you need something NOT want it
Think about other people you may know who live alone - get in touch
See what's on in your local area - hospitals,

charity orgs.

and give some time to assist them
Think about those who will not even have shelter this Christmas
Stop yourself being drawn into the "retail frenzy" by considering what Christmas or any holiday period is really about - it's about spending time with loved-ones, friends and family & does NOT relate to money in any way

So many of us take for granted the food, shelter, health and love we have. Don't wait until this is threatened - MAKE a DIFFERENCE NOW!
I'll now put my "soap box" away at least until the new year!

Yet more UFO sightings. What's happening?

REPORTS of strange lights in the skies over Wisbech have sparked interest from across Fenland and even further afield.
In fact one woman from Barnstaple, North Devon, contacted the Citizen after spotting the stories of the 'UFO'sightings on our website: www.fenlandcitizen.co.uk

She was interested in the story where Alison Hunt, of Cherry Road, Wisbech, reported seeing a very bright glowing orange light the size of a 'full moon' over her garden on January 30.

The woman, who didn't want to be named, said her daughter and her husband actually saw two of these objects, which she described as "huge, massive, orange orbs very bright. Both were the size of a full moon."

A MUM was left baffled after she filmed a bright pink orb in the night sky, fuelling the UK's UFO frenzy.
South east London mum Keely, who would only give her first name, took the mysterious footage with her camera phone after seeing the strange lights out of her kitchen window in Anerley.
Keely said: "I've got no answers. I've never seen anything like it."

THE number of UFO sightings soared by 40 per cent last year.
The MoD logged 135 reports – including one of two objects a MILE wide.
Two airline pilots spotted them over Guernsey, giving the sighting credibility.
