Turin Shroud Enters 3D Age

For centuries, people have argued about the authenticity of the Shroud of Turin. It is one of the most controversial relics in the Christian world. Some believe it to be a physical link to Jesus of Nazareth - his crucified image imprinted onto a 1st century linen cloth. For others, it is nothing more than an elaborate medieval forgery.
Check out this video for interesting view points & opinions

I am also interested in the The Sudarium, sometimes called the other Shroud, or more correctly the face-cloth of Christ. Scientists believe it was put over the head of a corpse as part of a Jewish custom when the death was so awful that the family wouldn’t see the face going into rigor mortis. The Sudarium is referred to in John 20:5-8. It was placed over Jesus’ face on his way to the tomb so that his mother especially would be spared more anguish. Unlike the Turin Shroud which has an image of a crucified man, there is no image on the Sudarium, it contains stains of blood and lymph. Interestingly both blood types found on the Turin shroud & the Sudarium match!

A long weekend with the son of God

Easter time is once again upon us. A "fitting" time to watch a documentary about Jesus Vissarion who leads some 4,000 people who’ve all come together in the Siberian town of Minusinsk, looking for something…is he the Messiah?
The Second Coming of Christ is the return of Jesus Christ from Heaven to Earth as expected in most Christian eschatologies. The anticipated event is predicted in biblical Messianic prophecy.
Sergei Torop hasn’t always been Jesus; he once worked as a policeman & first realised he was destined to be something akin to the messiah when he developed an interest that bordered on obsession with UFOs.
His followers live in what can only be described as a "hippy" commune delighting in mother earth & the fact that Jesus is literally among them. Watching it rekindled memories of the "flower power" era for me but I am getting a bit long in the tooth!
I imagine that the community and fellowship not only fulfills biblical prophecies for some, but also bridges the gap between the relatively new found democracy and the old communist regime.
Whatever the reason for this groups existence it is worth a view, that's if you're interested in Jesus, of course!

Another Easter Topic The Shroud of Turin

Hi

I wait with some anticipation for tonight's BBC 2 programme:
BBC Two examines the mystery of The Turin Shroud in a new documentary presented by Rageh Omaar. This year sees the 20th anniversary of the Carbon 14 dating of the Shroud of Turin that deemed the most famous relic in Christendom a fake. But since then, despite many attempts, no one has been able to determine who the forger was or how the forgery might have been done.

Shroud Of Turin – Material Evidence sets out to discover exactly what it is about the image on the Shroud that has defied imitation and explores new evidence that may challenge the Carbon 14 verdict.

With unique access to the Shroud itself and those closest to it, Rageh embarks on a journey of discovery that takes him to meet Dr John Jackson, the leader of the 1978 US investigation that was given access to the cloth; to Professor Christopher Ramsey of the Oxford Laboratory that did the original C14 test; to Jerusalem; and, of course, to Turin, where the production team was given permission to film the Shroud itself in High Definition for the first time. Read On..........
