Area 51 and UFOs

Hi
Little old me again!
Saw this write up in "The Airforce Times" and found it interesting
The Air Force’s classified test range at Groom Lake, Nev. has never lacked for evocative nicknames — it and its restricted airspace have been called Dreamland, Paradise Ranch, The Box and, most famously, Area 51. Now there’s a less romantic moniker to throw on the pile: “Homey Airport,” according to a few civilian aviation journals. “Homey Airport” now appears as the official name for a certain air base near a certain dry lake bed in Nevada, according to reports in the Web site of the Aircraft Owners and Pilots Association, as well as the Daily Aviator blog and others. New editions of flight planning software and civilian aviators’ GPS gear lists the name and the official designation “KXTA” — which online wags have speculated stands for “extraterrestrial airport.” (The “k” designation indicates only that the field is in the U.S., according to the Federal Aviation Administration.) Capt. Jessica Martin, a spokeswoman for Nellis Air Force Base, which sits 85 miles south of Homey Airport and is responsible for the airspace and any ground facilities, said that “we already know about the designation, but it doesn’t have any effect on operations at the base.” Martin said she didn’t know the origin of the name “Homey Airport.” Featured in movies, TV shows and video games, Area 51 is likely the most famous top-secret facility in the world and a favorite component of UFO and military conspiracy theories.

The Department of Defense didn’t even acknowledge the base existed until 1994, when former base employees sued the government and claimed they’d been poisoned by hazardous materials used at the base for research into stealth technology.

UFO sightings
What do you think of this article taken from paranormalnewsonly.orgI was driving my car when i was about 17 with a few of my friends when i saw a pair of lights in the sky that looked like headlights about halfway up a radio tower that was by my friends house. as we came along side and underneath it. I noticed it had 3 lights on the bottom like most of the ufo's that are talked about on the shows i have seen on the history channel. i turn around and drove by again and it was still there. so i decided to try and get its attention. by racing toward it in my car. when it noticed i was coming at it. The object starded boucing around in the air in all directions , then stopped and flew into western sky's sunset. I saw a flash of light and it was gone. I'am not the first one to see these. Even the old timers have seen them. they like to hang out by the radion towers. but i havent seen any in years. but that night alot of people saw them and it went on for about a month after. i still look up once in a while to see if they ever come back. but i know when i think about them i still get that cold chill down my back because i know..........., continued.

About 3 years later i was taking one of my friends home and i noticed bright circles of fire in the sky that seemed tho expand and retract every few seconds ro minutes. they were in 2 different areas. 3 were running parallel with the ohio turn pike around the town of new middletown. just west of PA. the other 4 lights were follwing the turn pike west and ran in a row evenly spaced. this was also taking place in broad daylight. so i stopped the vehicle and watched them for about 15 minutes and continued on into new middletown. Even after half an hour i could still see them in the distance getting bigger and and then going back small. its been about 5 years since I've seen them.
This article started me thinking about a close friend's experience a couple of years ago
She was working on shift in a house that was situated in the countryside close to a forest in Mid Wales
Whilst finishing her shift, enjoying a cigarette she spotted two lights in the sky above the nearby trees. They appeared to hover for quite some time and then started to move across the sky in a zig/zag motion
She climed into her old banger of a car and drove through the forest trying to reach the point where they had become stationary. She did manage to "catch up" with the lights and sat for some time underneath them with the car engine switched off for perhaps 10 minutes or more
Suddenly they instantly dissappeared!

What's your opinion on area 51 and UFOs?
