James Randi and a Dowser

Dowsing - what is it?
Definition, according to the British Society of Dowsers, founded in 1933, is as follows:
To dowse is to search, with the aid of simple hand held tools or instruments, for that which is otherwise hidden from view or knowledge. It can be applied to searches for a great number of artefacts and entities. It is most commonly known by most people in association with searching for underground water; not surprising considering the absolute need for water by man and his animals and cultivated plants which sustain him.

What is less readily known is that dowsing can be also used for searching for other underground features such as archaeological remains, cavities and tunnels, oil, veins of mineral ore, underground building services, missing items and occasionally missing persons.

Although no thorough scientific explanations for dowsing has yet been found it is frequently acknowledged that there is some correlation between the dowsing reaction and changes in magnetic flux when dowsing on site.

What is more difficult for the newcomer to accept is that dowsing can be carried out at a distance and, moreover, the distance itself has no bearing on the results; dowsing can be carried out for something in the next room or the next continent. Read on.........................

When you use dowsing in your every day life you don't need to question whether it works or not. Quite simply if it didn't work you could not use it!
I use dowsing as a method of pin-pointing where a particular health problem is emanating from on the body. I sometime use a crystal pendulum, but more often use my hands. - before you cry "CHARLATAN" I do not charge for my healing!

The events that Haunting Breaks offer all include tuition and practical exercises in dowsing with both rods & pendulums. They were introduced into the event programme, initially, to encourage use of the right side of the brain, which would in turn provide a greater experience, later on in the event. ACCORDING TO JAMES RANDI AT BEST WE'RE ALL BARKING, OR OTHERWISE FAKERS, CHARLATANS, ETC.
Watch the video & see him perform. The dowser fails to perform!

JAMES MAY OF COURSE BE RIGHT BUT HOW & WHY DOES IT WORK FOR ME & MANY OTHERS?

"The Case Against Reincarnation - A Rational Approach" - by James Webster

Interesting book to read if you're into the concept of Reincarnation.
James Webster was born in Tonbridge, Kent, England in 1935. From an early age he became interested and fascinated by the mysteries of life and has spent nearly 50 years in research, enquiry and discovery from much personal experience.

Being born in what would be recognised as a "haunted house", paranormal phenomena was soon experienced. He later turned to practising the skills of conjuring, and with membership to The Magic Circle he spent some years as a professional artiste touring the Theatres and Clubs and appearing on Television shows with his magic act. This proved to be a valuable asset when he came to investigate the paranormal in more depth and segregate the ‘true’ from the ‘false’

James had, over the years, been reading and studying the sciences, philosophy, psychology, parapsychology and many paranormal subjects, with the jackpot question always in mind: What happens to us when we die? And what reliable evidence do we have to answer this profound question which involves every person on Earth?

The book, "The Case Against Reincarnation - A Rational Approach" presents his case against reincarnation with fine backup evidence from a wide input - past and present - to provide the reader with a wealth of information to guide them out of the reincarnation jungle and into the light of more positive and acceptable understanding.

Hope those who read this enjoy it!

Ghostly Photographs

Hi

Saw this and thought "what an interesting project". Not only can you vote on whether you believe a particular photograph is real, faked etc. but you can also contribute by adding any personal "ghostly" photographs that you may have!

Richard Wiseman, the author also offers the following "illusion" to prove that you should NOT always believe your eyes

Take a look and see what you think!
Your feedback would be much appreciated

Scientific Experiments on Psychic Ability

Hi
Further to my post regarding The James Randi Challenge I happened apon the following article
Thought Mr. Randi would find it interesting ( at least in part)

Dr. Gary Schwartz continues life after death research
by Michael E. Tymn

In an exclusive interview with The Psychic Times, bestselling author and acclaimed scientist, Professor Gary Schwartz, reveals why his quest for the scientific evidence for life after death will never convince the sceptics

READ ON.............
In particular: "In fact, Schwartz has since done double-blind and even triple-blind studies (where the researcher, the medium, and the sitter were kept in the dark), but they have been equally unacceptable to the scientific fundamentalists."Based on my repeated observations of them and my experience with them, I would say that there is no experiment that I could even imagine designing that would convince them," Schwartz said. "Let's say, for example, that we design an experiment where the mediums are sequestered and locked in a room with no telephone or communication and we have them watched by security guards to be certain no one provides them with information from the outside. Well, then these sceptics will ask how we can be sure the guards weren't paid off by the mediums, how we can be sure the guards weren't involved in fraud. The truth is that if you are absolutely convinced that the phenomena can't be true, then no matter what experiment you design, you can always find some way in which there might be fraud. Therefore, you are going to dismiss it, or you're going to admit that you got it in that case but you want to see it replicated by other people. Then you want to see it replicated again, and it just goes on and on."

Dear oh dear oh dear!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
