Hi - when did you have your first psychic experience?

Elizabet said...

My first experience was when I was about 4 years of age.

What happened?

I remember an indistinct figure appearing by my bedside one evening and assumed this was my grandparent who lived in the family home. I spoke to him and he did not answer me, but left the room. I thought I heard him enter the bathroom, as the bathroom door opened and the taps were turned on and off.
I left my room and entered the bathroom, soon after this, as I remember feeling puzzled as to why he did not answer me. The bathroom was empty. The bathroom stood at the end of a landing area, accessed by a staircase. My room was situated to the right of the bathroom on this landing area. Whoever had used the bathroom would have had to pass me in order to gain access to the staircase.
I recall mentioning this to my mother who told me not to be silly, as my grandfather and the rest of the family were all downstairs during this time.

Many thanks for the posting Brightmorningstar.
A difficult question given the broad subject matter.
Let me first of all offer a short personal interpretation of paranormal, spiritual and demonic within the context of this discussion.
The definition of paranormal is “that which lies outside of a scientific explanation”
Spiritual relates to nature, a living entity or being, spirit in the religious sense.
The term demon can be use to define a devil, a fiend, monster, incubus or vampire.
Having studied comparative religion I know that the interpretation of unexplained phenomenon can be influenced by personal culture and belief systems.
To avoid going into depth on this issue I will convey my thoughts as carefully and appropriately as possible
I believe that the world of the paranormal and the spiritual are one and the same.
I also believe that the spirit world exists in a parallel universe to the world we live in, and is based on the same form. As in this world, there are individuals who are good and individuals that are evil.
I therefore believe that it is possible to have experienced “two different kinds of things” as your statement suggests.
(Let me temper this statement by assuring anyone who is not directly involved with this posting that I strongly believe that it is possible to carry out paranormal investigations without fear of “walking into a demonic force”.
Haunting Breaks carries out all of its investigations with the appropriate training and protection for our guests and teams.
The quest for the team is to prove “scientifically” that psychic and paranormal phenomenon exists.)
Can I now ask you a question?
How have your experiences affected you?

Dear BrightMorningstar,
Thanks for the last post.
Your example of things going missing and then turning up later is very interesting!
I will create a separate post entitled "Things that come and go" Have a look, it may be of interest.
You also mention "the worse things". I don't know whether you would like to go into detail about these. If you do then maybe we can swap experiences?

Dear Esteban,

I too experienced unexplained happenings as a child!
I remember some of the most vivid ones as though it was only yesterday.
During the course of being part of Haunting Breaks have had the privilidge to meet with numerous individuals that talk of similar happenings.
I think that something that we provide, apart from a break with a difference, is the chance for people to talk openly of their experiences. This has had the desired effect of allowing ordinary people the opportunity to realise that they are not mad!
Take Care until the next post!
